This is the concept piece for the King of Snake Valley. It was done with a black marker on recycled paper.

The King and the idea of him being able to control snakes, I have to admit, was largely inspired by the Harry Potter books.

Son of the Dead

Here is an early idea for the Son of the Dead. It is done with just a regular old blue Bic pen on recycled paper. The final product came very close to this (other than the field of sculls that he is standing in was a bit more defined).

I have been consolidating some of my miscellaneous work into some of my current sketchbooks and I should be posting more here soon.

This is a very small watercolour painting that I did on cold press. It is the Under Sea King getting a look at what is topside with a little help from his assistant.

This is the first draft for the Under Sea King.

The idea for him acctually came from part of another story I was working on, Lookout Cortez (a link to that blog is in the side bar). It is pen on lines paper that I went back with watercolours later.

I had a great time yesterday thinking up a possible story line for Monks of the Black Sword. I might accually follow up on it some day.
