This is the concept piece for the King of Snake Valley. It was done with a black marker on recycled paper.

The King and the idea of him being able to control snakes, I have to admit, was largely inspired by the Harry Potter books.

Son of the Dead

Here is an early idea for the Son of the Dead. It is done with just a regular old blue Bic pen on recycled paper. The final product came very close to this (other than the field of sculls that he is standing in was a bit more defined).

I have been consolidating some of my miscellaneous work into some of my current sketchbooks and I should be posting more here soon.

This is a very small watercolour painting that I did on cold press. It is the Under Sea King getting a look at what is topside with a little help from his assistant.

This is the first draft for the Under Sea King.

The idea for him acctually came from part of another story I was working on, Lookout Cortez (a link to that blog is in the side bar). It is pen on lines paper that I went back with watercolours later.

I had a great time yesterday thinking up a possible story line for Monks of the Black Sword. I might accually follow up on it some day.

This is a re-draw of one of the original pieces that inspired the "Monks of the Black Swords" story line. This is also the first time that I drew the cursed necklace. It was just one of those inspriational moments when I was messing around. The cursed necklace will come up again in the future. I have started a short story line that explains and enhances the idea.

I was going through my old scketch books and found a few more piece from Island of the Gods to put up. It my be a while though, I having knee surgery later today.

Sky bulls. Basiclly whale that fly around in the sky. Think "cover of Flight 4." I need to get a detailed picture of the small ship they use hurd the bulls.

It has been a long time since I have worked on this one, but I have found some old stuff that I would like to post and as soon as I get myself to a scanner I will.

I have some more images that I will be posting shortly. I would also like to get some of the story ideas that didn't make it into the final story.

Here are tow of the more detailed ideas of the area around West Bridge Port. The old Lookout between the Twin Falls and the Pump House from a distance where our hero trained with The Great Master. I have some more detailed renderings of these areas that I hope to post in the future.

You can see Clitheroe Wood in the top corner. A huge part of the early saga took place there.

The Northern Desert, which extends far beond this page to the Border Walls.

The Infari Gate which is the gateway to the underworld.

West Bridge Port where our hero comes from.

Thumb's Gate, site of the historic battle.

South Bridge Port.

East Bridge Port and the Lost Gate.

At the bottom we see The Greater and Lesser Plains, Fort Ransom and Fort Kor. All areas of great interest from the story.
